How do I rent from Applecool Storage?

You can easily rent online or over the phone. You can call us at (843) 833-5360. To rent online, visit www.applecoolstorage.com. Go to the Rent Storage page, and pick your desired unit size. Then enter your contact information, sign the rental agreement online, and make the payment. We’ll text and email your unit number, gate code, and rental instructions, and you can move in immediately! You can easily rent online or over the phone. 


What storage unit size do I need?

We have a variety of unit sizes, from 5x10ft up to 10x25ft and above. The rule of thumb is 50 square feet of storage space for each room you plan to store. A 10x10 unit would fit 1-2 rooms, a 10x20 unit would fit 3-4 rooms, and so on. For a better idea of what size you’ll need, visit our Storage Unit Sizes resource. What are the access hours?

Our facility is accessible from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week. 


Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

You cannot store any food or perishable items. Also, we prohibit liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and tires. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.


Are locks provided or sold on site?

We provide a heavy duty disc lock with every new rental. These are far more secure than padlocks, because the shape prevents a bolt cutter from reaching the shackle.


What security do you provide?

Our facility is under 24-hour digital video surveillance, and is completely surrounded with a barbed-wire fence. Each customer has a unique gate code as well. 


Do you allow parking at the facility?

We allow operational vehicles to be stored inside the units, as well as motorcycles and trailers. We don’t allow any cars without a working engine. We also don’t provide outdoor parking.


Do I need to sign a long term lease?

No, we rent on a month-to-month basis, but you can stay as long as you like!


How do I pay my bill online?

Navigate to the top right corner of our website, and click on the icon labeled “Make a Payment/Login.” From there, login with your username and password. You can make one-time online payments, set up recurring billing for automatic payments, and you can also choose to prepay the bill for your upcoming month.


What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit and debit cards including VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. We also accept ACH payments, also known as electronic checks.


How much notice needs to be given before I move out?

All contracts are month-to-month, and we don’t require advance notice. When you move out, email or text us a picture of your empty, swept out unit, and we will cancel your future billing.


Can I change storage unit sizes after I've moved in?

If you rented too little or too much space, we’re happy to transfer you to a storage unit that better matches your needs as long as that size is available.


Can I live or sleep in a storage unit?

No. Living in a storage unit is prohibited by various local and federal housing laws. Also, living in a storage unit is extremely unsafe. Storage unit doors lock from the outside and do not have running water to support a residence.
